We design and manufacture precision optical filters, optical coatings and laser protection eyewear in the UK. Our customers work in aerospace, defence, medical, industrial and scientific research.
Coatings are produced at our sites in Perthshire and Manchester, for cockpit displays, imaging systems, sensors and laser-based instruments. We supply prototype quantities as well as production volumes.
We work to ISO 9001, and our commercial laser protection eyewear is certified to ISO 19818:2021 for use in the UK and Europe.
Optics for Aerospace, Defence, Medical & Scientific Use
Our filters and coatings are used in NVIS-compatible cockpit displays, infrared imaging systems, geostationary weather monitoring, laser surgery and sensors for air and space platforms.
We also develop custom optics for research teams and equipment manufacturers, based on their specification.

About Brinell Vision
All of our filters and coatings are made in-house at our facilities in Perthshire and Manchester.
We use plasma-based deposition processes, including pulse plasma beam sputtering, which produce hard, stable coatings suited to aerospace and outdoor use.
If a standard product doesn’t fit, we can design a filter or coating around your wavelength, size, substrate and environmental requirements.
Our quality system is certified to ISO 9001, and our laser protection eyewear to ISO 19818:2021.
